Beauty Blog – Prepping The Skin Part 1

Hi guys – today I’m here with my makeup artist Crystal, and we’re going to be sharing some tips for skin and makeup that I do on a daily basis and for special occasions (birthday, a big date, prom!).

To get your skin ready the night before a big event or special occasion, I start off with a skin scrub/exfoliator like Kate Somerville, it gets rid of dead skin cells and it’s gentle.  Then I do a facemask (just any fun kind from from the drug store), and then end with a night serum which gets your skin cells energized so you wake up in the AM with soft fresh new skin.  Plus it’s fun to have a spa night!  (Make sure to take pictures of yourself and your girlfriends with your green faces!)

A good tip that Crystal told me is to use a tiny bit of facemask & sleep with it all night, it helps your skin maintain moisture and minimize pores.  AND – then get a good night’s sleep!

Then in the morning, the first thing we do when Crystal gets here is a lip scrub (Sephora fresh sugar scrub), scrub a little bit with a finger or a qtip.  I really like the Sephora fresh sugar scrub.  Then put on a really good lip moisturizer, I like Burts Bees and you can get it at the drugstore!
