Hey everyone! So I noticed on my Facebook page that I get a lot of questions about health and fitness, and how I stay fit during the holiday season. Sooo, I wanted to give you guys a couple of tips that really work for me.

The first is walking – take walks! I usually go for walks after dinner; especially after Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. I usually wait about 10-15 minutes – just the right amount of time to wrap up leftovers, and then head outside for a 20 minute walk around where I live. It’s really nice to just get outside, especially if you have family or a friend with you. Just a nice 20 minute walk is good to get moving and burn off some of the calories from a big meal :)

Another thing I do to stay in shape is skipping rope. It’s great because you don’t need anything fancy and don’t need to be in a gym! I usually do it in the garage if it’s cold, or outside if it’s nice. Just get a jump rope and try to go for as long as you can building up your time – start at 10 minutes, then up to 15, 20, and on and on. Right now my max is 30 minutes.

Both walking and skipping rope are great ways that I’ve found to stay fit during the holidays (and year round). What are your tips? I need some new ideas!
